By reviewing data and sharing our findings, we aim to help you make an informed decision when choosing the best robot mop for your needs.

The Best Robot Mops of 2024

These are the five best robot mops on the market, rated by run time, filter quality, functionality, and effectiveness.

Roborock S5 Robotic Mop Cleaner

Best Robot Mop Overall

Have a lot of floor space to clean? This may be the best robot mop for you since it has 150 minutes of runtime in one full charge. With an automatic recharge function, this device can resume where it left off once it has juice.

To avoid scratching your furniture, there are anti-collision infrared sensors. This makes it slow down, so it’s only a gentle touch. The device boasts four cliff sensors so that it can anticipate any drops and it will change direction.

This is a two-in-one robot mop with the ability to wet mop and sweep/vacuum. It has a “Cyclone 3D” cleaning system, featuring powerful 2000 Pa suction.

The robot comes with two pairs of water tank filters, one of which is a washable E11 filter to extract dust and pet dander. There’s also a waterproof pad and two mopping cloths supplied.

You can control where cleaning begins. This mop features a SLAM algorithm for creating real-time maps, and you can select forbidden zones to suit your home. There’s even a carpet mode.

What We Like

150 Minutes of Runtime

This is the longest runtime of all the robot mops on our list. It can clean for up to 150 minutes at a time before it returns to the dock for charging. With the long runtime, it’s possible to clean the whole house between charges.

Bionic Mopping System

Thanks to the bionic mopping system, you don’t have to worry about leaks or water streaks at rest. There’s an even distribution of water released from the tank during mopping. It also refills easily — just open the top, fill the robot mop with water, and then close the stopper.

Adjustable Brush Spins for Sweeping

It’s often hard to get all the dust and dirt from edges and corners in a room. But not with this robot mop. It has adjustable brush spins, with a faster rotation of 330 revolutions per minute for the side brush to get into those hard-to-reach spots.

Map Saving and Forbidden Zones

We love that you can use the app to create cleaning maps. You can save these for future scrubbing sessions. The virtual barrier tape will keep the robot mop within the desired area.

You can also set forbidden zones. The robot mop will avoid this location if you draw a line on the map.

What We Don't Like

You’ve Got to Clear the Room Before Cleaning

The one downside we could find with this one is you’ve got to move drapery and cables out of the way. This robot mop can only climb over items lower than 2-centimeters tall. Otherwise, some tidying up is in order beforehand.

User Experience

My experience with the Roborock S7 MaxV has been highly satisfactory. Its LIDAR mapping and obstacle avoidance capabilities exceeded my expectations, providing accurate and efficient cleaning. The auto-empty docking unit does an excellent job of emptying the dustbin, however, the charging time could be faster. I found the app to be user-friendly and the vacuum's performance impressive, especially on laminate flooring.

360 S5 Robot Vacuum and Mop

Best Robot Mop for Scheduled Cleaning

Do you like to be organized and have everything planned ahead of time? Now you can schedule floor mopping with this robot mop. It has a smart iOS and Android app you can use on your mobile device to plan your next clean.

The app also allows you to set off-limit areas and maps for your device. You can even track the sweeping when you’re out of the house. The runtime of this robot mop is up to 140 minutes, with a 3200 mAh lithium-ion battery.

It’s loaded with a SLAM algorithm for intelligent mopping and sweeping. The vacuum suction power will pick up loose debris while nylon brush bristles sweep up the dirt.

This is a good choice for those with allergies since it has a HEPA filter, although it may be too small.

With anti-collision and drop sensors, this robot mop can stay safe.

What We Like

140 Minutes Battery Runtime

The battery can last up to 140 minutes when it’s fully charged. Since it has an automatic recharge function, you don’t have to worry about putting it back in the dock. Then it’ll resume cleaning on its own once fully charged.

Four Suction Levels

This is one of the only robot mops that lets you vary the vacuum suction. This means you can customize your cleaning experience. Whether you don’t want to be disturbed on quiet mode or you want a deep clean after a long week on max — you’re covered.

The Ability to Climb

It can effortlessly glide over objects in its way that are up to 20 mm high.

What We Don't Like

Poor App Design

The app for this robot mop is poor, according to some users. It seemed to crash and have a lot of bugs. Perhaps, an update might solve this dilemma.

Personal Perspective

I recently acquired the 360 S5 vacuum robot, and I am quite impressed with its performance. The LIDAR mapping technology provides accurate navigation, and it does a decent job cleaning, despite having less suction power than some other models. I appreciate that it can reach under furniture like beds and wire-shelf units, making it easier to keep my home clean. However, the dust bin is on the smaller side, which requires emptying after each use, but that's a minor inconvenience considering the overall functionality of the vacuum.

ILife V5s Pro Robot Vacuum and Mop

Slimmest Design Robot Mop

This robot mop has a runtime of 110 minutes. What we love is that when it’s running low on battery, it automatically returns to the charging dock. It has a powerful, long-lasting battery, and it can follow a cleaning path.

You can choose from four cleaning modes. There’s a mop function and a powerful vacuum. It claims to be pet-friendly because of its quiet but outstanding motor. You can get on with your day, and it is unlikely to disturb your pets either.

Select settings on the handy remote control. You can also choose to send the robot mop back to the charging dock.

We love the drop sensors, which prevent it from falling downstairs or crashing into walls or furniture. Since it’s only three inches tall, it can easily clean underneath sofas and tables.

And because it’s a cordless vacuum, it has a dust bin that is easy to tip into the trash without having to touch any nasty dirt.

What We Like

Automatic Return to Charging Dock

This robot mop knows when there’s little charge left and will automatically return to the dock. For a full charge, this takes around a few hours.

Customized Experience With Four Cleaning Modes

You can enjoy selecting the cleaning mode you want. These include max mode, edge mode, spot mode, and automatic mode. Each has a different cleaning path that’s followed for efficiency.

Anti-Collision and Drop Sensors

You don’t have to be worried about your robot mop taking a sudden tumble or bumping into anything. The front light sensors scan for nearby objects and drops.

For example, if there are stairs or a wall in the way, it’ll turn around and redirect to clean another area. There’s also a bumper to avoid marking any furniture.

What We Don't Like

Questionable Sensor

We’ve noticed some customers commenting on the efficiency of the sensor of this product. They report that it had faulty sensors that had caused tipping over the stairs, but if you have a bungalow-type house, there’s nothing much to worry about.

Community Feedback

The iLife V5s Pro robot vacuum is a fantastic addition to my cleaning routine. At half the price of the more popular brands, it's quieter and easier to clean. The vacuum works great on wood and tile floors, efficiently picking up dust and debris, while the damp mop feature helps keep my floors looking fresh. The remote control allows me to easily direct the vacuum, and it even returns to the docking station when needed. Although it may not pick up every single item, for the price and convenience, I'm extremely satisfied with the iLife V5s Pro.

iRobot Braava Jet 240 Robot Mop

Best Robot Mop for Corners

This robot mop is a square design, facilitating better cleaning in corners and edges in your room. At 3.3 inches in height, the slender design can scoot under furniture too. Also, this robot mop features a jet spray function that automatically sprays water.

The damp mopping uses vibration to agitate the mop head and help to scrub away debris, combined with the spray function.

The water sprays out in the wet mopping mode while the mop vibrates and goes into motion. Don’t worry; it also detects obstacles to avoid soaking any rugs or other items.

Six mop pads are included – two wet mopping pads, two damp mopping pads, and two dry sweeping pads. Simply slide them in to attach. They’re reusable, and you can wash them up to 50 times.

This product is designed to clean rooms of up to 200 square feet mopping and 250 square feet for sweeping. And with the help of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, this robot mop can run for up to 20 minutes.

What We Like

Features Three Mopping Modes

You can enjoy customized cleaning with three mopping modes automatically selected when attaching the corresponding mop pad. The dry sweeping pad may pick up dirt, dust, and hair in a single pass.

The damp sweeping pad combines with the periodic spray function to scrub away grime in a double pass. Then there’s the wet mopping pad for a deep clean on well-sealed floors, for stains and tougher dirt. It offers triple-pass cleaning.

Square Design for Corners

Crumbs and dust bunnies like to gather in the corners of your home. But they can’t hide from the iRobot Braava. It glides into those edges others can’t reach.

Mop Pad Ejection Button

You can grab the handle of this robot mop and simply press the ejection button to drop your mop pad off into the laundry basket or washing machine. The button is located on the top of the mop, so it’s easy to locate and use.

What We Don't Like

Doesn’t Have a Vacuum Function

This product is exactly what it says on the package – a robot mop. But it’s a shame that it doesn’t have a vacuum function to capture crumbs and dirt.

Short Runtime

Compared to other robot mops we looked at, this one has a short runtime. It can only clean for up to 20 minutes before it has to recharge.

First-Hand Impression

Excellent cleaning performance from the Roomba Braava 240 robomop! Using just water and a reusable cleaning pad, it effectively cleaned my living room and kitchen floors. It's a simple-to-use device with a quiet operation, perfect for smaller rooms. However, it may not be suitable for larger homes or multiple rooms due to its limited battery life and lack of advanced features.

Bobsweep Pet Hair Plus Robotic Mop

Best Robot Mop for Pet Hair

If your furry friend sheds, you may be interested in this robot mop. It’s a combined vacuum and mop so that your floors can be spotless from dirt and shiny in appearance. There’s even a brush with a reach of 11 inches to sweep away hair.

The “4x Boosted TurboLift” vacuum provides good suction – don’t underestimate this small cleaning tool. This robot mop can be used on tiles and hardwood, as well as carpets and rugs.

The brush having 12 arms can grab dust from hard-to-reach spaces, such as corners.

Don’t forget to use the microfiber mop head. There are even a dual-layer filter and UV-C light for scrubbing, so no stone is left unturned.

You don’t have to worry about crashing into objects because there’s a network of sensors to guide this robot mop in the right direction.

There’s a screen on the top of the robot mop. This allows you to easily see the charge, cleaning mode, and if there’s a problem. We also like that this robot mop comes with a two-year guarantee.

What We Like

Features “4x Boosted TurboLift” Vacuum

One of the best ways to capture pet hair is with a vacuum. This one has a powerful suction to whip away all the fur before scrubbing with the microfiber mop.

Large Capacity Dustbin for Capturing Dirt

This means you won’t have to empty it as often. When you want to discard all the grime, it’s easy to unclip and empty it straight into the trash.

Customizable Cleaning With “FullCommand” Remote

At the touch of a button, you can choose the cleaning experience you want. For example, you can select a 30-minute clean or a deep clean. You can also manually control the robot mop with the arrow buttons if it misses a spot.

This feature is handy for arranging your weekly cleaning schedule ahead of time and choosing a cleaning mode.

What We Don't Like

Doesn’t Run Quietly

One comment we noticed many customers making was that they thought it wasn’t quiet enough. So, if you’re working in the other room or trying to watch television, it may not be ideal.

User Experience

If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that can handle pet hair, look no further than the BobSweep Pethair vacuum. I've been using it for years, and I'm constantly amazed at the amount of hair and dirt it picks up from my hardwood floors. The huge dustbin and scheduling options make it easy to keep my home clean, and the upgraded remote control offers even more functionality without being overwhelming. Just be aware that it might not reach every corner and may need to run multiple days to cover your entire floor, but overall, I'd highly recommend this vacuum for any pet owner.

Are Robot Mops Worth It?

Here are some of the main advantages of a robot mop and the reasons why it may be the right purchase for you.

1. Easy to Store

The traditional mop and bucket take up a lot of space in the laundry room, but the robot mop doesn’t. They’re typically compact — most don’t go above 12 inches in diameter — circular or square, and easy to hide away up on a shelf or under furniture.

2. Saves You Time

Scrubbing the floors in your home is the last thing you want to do after an exhausting day. Now you can just leave the robot mop to get to work while you relax with your family.

Most of the time, robot mops don’t need supervision. They’ll freely glide around your flooring, trapping dirt and scrubbing stains as they go. They’re an autonomous device – you don’t have to do much aside from switching it on.

3. Good for Bad Backs

Scrubbing on your hands and knees or even with a mop may aggravate a bad back. So, a robot mop may be suitable for those with back pain or sciatica.

4. Cleans Hard-to-Reach Spots

Instead of moving out all of your furniture to clean, just let the robot mop slide under. It can scrub under sofas, beds, and around toilets. A lot of those hard-to-reach spots you can’t get to with a vacuum or mop are accessible for a compact robot mop.

How to Choose a Robot Mop

Ultimately, every robot mop will have different features. But we’ve rounded up some of the best we think may be beneficial for you.

Long Run Time

Most robot mops are cordless and function with rechargeable batteries. The longer the running time, the longer your device can mop away and clean your home.

You can expect to see the average run time from around 60 to 150 minutes. If you’ve got a lot of floor space, you might want to opt for the latter.

Automatic Recharging Capabilities

One cool thing we’ve noticed about many robot mops is that they’re supplied with a docking station. This is where the batteries charge up when there’s no juice left in your device. But what we really love are the robot mops that boast automatic recharging capabilities.

This means that the cleaning tool can detect when it’s low on battery. It will then automatically return to the docking station – without any prompting from you. This might be a great feature when you’re out at work.

Some robot mops can even return to the spot they were cleaning once fully recharged.

HEPA Filter

HEPA stands for a “high-efficiency particulate air” filter. If you’ve got allergies or respiratory issues, you may want to consider a robot mop with one.

Studies have found that HEPA filters can reduce allergic respiratory symptoms (1). A device that features one might help reduce dust, pollen, and other allergens present in the room you’re cleaning.

Jet Spray Function

Wet mopping may help to loosen dirt and scrub away stubborn grime. Some of the best robot mops might feature a jet spray function for this reason. Just as it sounds, the device automatically sprays water for cleaning.

Anti-Collision and Anti-Drop Sensors

The idea of a robot mop is that you leave this device to get on with the hard work. This means looking out for a model with anti-collision and anti-drop sensors. This ensures that your mop knows not to storm into furniture or fall down stairs.

The sensors scan for edges around your home that may become hazardous to its operation. It might also prevent damage to your personal items. They’re usually infrared light sensors, and if they detect an obstacle, the device will move away (2).

Mapping and Virtual Wall Function

Many robot mops allow you to map out cleaning paths for them. This is often done through a mobile device app where you select which rooms you want the robot to clean.

In addition, you can set virtual walls and no-go zones. This means your robot mop will not cross over these boundaries you create. It’s common to do this over doorways, so they don’t wander out.

It may also be a handy feature if you have children or pets who are frightened by the device.

Vacuum and Sweeping Functions

Do you want to get rid of loose dirt and buff your floors simultaneously? Certain models are now multi-functional, featuring vacuum suction and sweeping features.

This may be a good idea if you’re a pet owner with furry friends or are a busy, active family. It’ll kill two birds with one stone and make mopping more efficient.

You’ll find that most models are bagless due to their compact size. But some have large dustbins for collecting dust and dirt. The bigger it is, the fewer times you’ve got to empty it.
