Samsung Linear Wash 39 dBA Dishwasher
Most Quiet
Thirty-nine decibels is the quietest dishwashers can go. It is nearly silent, and you’d have to listen really hard to know that it’s running.
Once you shut the kitchen door behind you, though, you’ll have no idea it’s working hard!
If you’re in the market for a quiet Samsung dishwasher, then this is the option for you!
What We Like
Beautiful Exterior Design
Of course, it’s what’s on the inside of a dishwasher that matters. But the exterior is still important! Firstly, this exterior is fingerprint resistant, so it looks good when it arrives, and it will stay good looking.
Secondly, it’s available in four colors: stainless steel, navy, tuscan and black. It also has a nice pocket handle that makes the dishwasher look classy. That’s not all — it has a digital screen that displays the remaining time!
Linear Wash Provides Full Coverage
This dishwasher uses a fancy cleaning system called Linear Wash. That works by using blasted jets that allow corner-to-corner coverage which provides 100 percent cleaning.
Wi-Fi Connect — Control From Phone
This dishwasher has smart control. You can use the app to monitor and control the dishwasher from your phone. So you can control your dishwasher whether you’re tucked up in bed or out with friends.
AutoRelease Door Speeds Up Drying
At the end of the cycle, the door will automatically pop open. This lets the air circulate to further dry dishes. Everything will be bone dry when you unload the dishwasher in the morning.
What We Don't Like
No Heated Dry
With condensation drying and the AutoRelease door, it does an adequate job of drying. Still, it doesn’t have a heated drying element, which is a drawback for some customers.
Not Spacious Enough
Although there are 15 place settings and a third rack, it’s a tight squeeze. The third rack isn’t very spacious, and utensils need to be very thin to fit.
When the third rack is in, you also lose space on the other racks. This feels quite a bit smaller than other models on the market.

Our Ratings
Samsung StormWash™ Dishwasher with AutoRelease
Most Stylish
All Samsung dishwashers are aesthetically pleasing, so you can’t go wrong with any model. But we think this one sticks out from the crowd.
Its pocket handle and flawless gray finish bring a new sense of futuristic technology into the kitchen.
If you don’t like gray, it’s also available in black. Overall, it just looks a lot more expensive than it actually is!
What We Like
42 Decibels Quiet
You’ll barely hear this dishwasher while it’s running. At only 42 decibels, this dishwasher is nearly quiet. So not only does it look good in your kitchen, but it creates a peaceful atmosphere which is especially useful during the evening time.
Fingerprint Resistant Finish
If you’re going to get a dishwasher this good-looking, you want it to stay classy! Thankfully, this dishwasher is fingerprint-resistant. So if your kids are running around, plastering their hands to every appliance, at least you know this one won’t get dirty and grimy.
Hidden Heating Element
The heating element on many dishwashers is exposed. This is fine, but it can be dangerous if items fall off the racks and land near the heating element.
The heating element on this dishwasher is hidden, so it’s extra safe. Plus, it won’t warp your plastics!
StormWash Rotating Jets
This dishwasher is built to clean taller items and reach hidden spots. We love this for things like tall bottles or large pots. The rotating jets sit below your dishes and provide powerful force coming in from all angles.
What We Don't Like
Small Interior Size
If you’re going from another dishwasher to this one, you might be surprised by the interior size. Many customers were taken aback by the construction of the inside. They reported that they couldn’t fit as much in this as their previous dishwasher.
No Heated Dry
This dishwasher uses condensation drying and the AutoRelease door to dry your dishes. This does involve waiting around 30 minutes after the cycle is finished to retrieve your dishes and put them away. There is no heated dry option, which is a big drawback for some folks.

Our Ratings
Samsung - StormWash™ With 3rd Rack
Best for Drying Dishes
Samsung dishwashers rely on their AutoRelease door to bring dishes to 100 percent dryness. However, this model has both condensation and heating drying as backup options.
While the AutoRelease door is awesome, you do have to wait a little while once the cycle is finished. That’s not always convenient.
Instead, use the heated dry cycle on this to get your dishes dry so you can put them away immediately.
What We Like
StormWash Spray Option
As well as drying, this dishwasher does a grand job at cleaning. It has six wash cycles, as well as the option to turn on StormWash. StormWash uses rotating jets to get into hard-to-reach places, so everything comes out clean.
Adjustable and Removable Third Rack
With 15 place settings and a third rack, this dishwasher has enough space for everyone in the family, plus guests! You can adjust the third rack, too. If it’s getting in the way, simply remove it.
Do a Half Load
We love the idea of a half-load option. Sometimes you want to run a half cycle, especially on weekends when you’re enjoying leftovers or takeaways! But you can’t always justify running the dishwasher when there are only a few things in it.
Well, now you can because this dishwasher has a half-load cycle which uses less energy and less water but still gets the dishes clean!
Fingerprint Resistant Finish
If you have little kids running around, you’ll know that they leave their fingerprints everywhere. But this dishwasher resists those stains. Therefore, your appliance always looks classy and clean in your kitchen.
What We Don't Like
Third Rack Sacrifices Upper Rack Space
If you keep the third rack, you will lose height space on the bottom rack. So while the third rack is in place, you may struggle to fit in large bowls, pots, pans, and baking trays.
Long Cycles
The normal cycle on this dishwasher is over 2.5 hours. If you add in the StormWash, it’s even longer. This is pretty average for a dishwasher, but keep that in mind because many customers dislike the cycle lengths.

Samsung StormWash™ Built-In Dishwasher
Best Spacious Samsung Dishwasher
If you have a big family, you know the struggle when it comes to handwashing dishes. It takes forever, and there’s always an argument! That’s why you need a dishwasher for your home, and what better recommendation is there than the Samsung Stormwash dishwasher?
It has room for 15-place settings, so nobody has to wash their plate by hand. Plus, it has a third rack for utensils and flat items. This leaves more room for cups and bowls on the top rack!
Get everything done in one load, giving your family more time. Plus, you spend less time on household chores.
What We Like
StormWash Spray
If you’re worried about unclean dishes at the end of the cycle, this dishwasher is a fantastic choice. The StormWash spray uses rotating spray jets that get into hard-to-reach places so that every last item is sparkling clean and ready to be put away.
AutoRelease Door Removes Moisture
At the end of the cycle, the door will automatically open. This assists with air drying everything until it’s 100 percent dry and ready to be put away.
This feature is great if you’re asleep or out of the house. When you return to the kitchen, your dishes will be done and dusted for you!
Adjustable Racks Create More Space
You can adjust the racks in this dishwasher which is fantastic if you are washing taller items. You can simply reposition the top rack to make more space. This is also great if you have taller items on the top and the third rack is getting in the way a bit.
Digital Leak Sensor Included
Don’t worry about your dishwasher leaking. This appliance has a built-in leak sensor, which will detect and prevent leaks before they happen.
What We Don't Like
Quick Wash Inadequate
Like the sound of getting your dishes done in 60 minutes? We do, too but keep in mind that this works best for extremely lightly soiled dishes like mugs and cups. If you have caked-on food, it won’t do the job.
Unclean Dishes?
Most of the complaints about this dishwasher are that it doesn’t do as well as other models or brands.
Of course, the majority of customers don’t have this issue. It also does take a bit of time to get used to, but unless you use the StormWash setting every time — you may have this problem. Using the StormWash feature extends the cycle, so it’s not practical every day.

Samsung Smart 44dBA Dishwasher
Best Smart Dishwasher
Control this Samsung dishwasher directly from the SmartThings App. With this app, you can start the dishwasher remotely (a unique feature!), pause or delay cycles, and check energy usage.
Besides being futuristic, this dishwasher is also quiet. Running at only 44 decibels, this is akin to light rainfall — you’ll barely notice it when you’re trying to relax in the evenings.
What We Like
AutoRelease Door Invites Airflow
This is one of our absolute favorites across any dishwasher we have come across. When the cycle finishes, the door automatically opens to invite airflow. This dries your dishes in just 30 minutes.
When you run your dishwasher overnight, this is fantastic because they’ll be 100 percent dry in the morning.
3rd Rack Creates More Space
There’s now a dedicated spot for mugs, utensils, and silverware. You have more room in the other racks for bigger items like pots, bowls, and plates.
Energy Star Certified
This energy-efficient dishwasher will save you money by preserving electricity and water during each cycle. All without sacrificing the washing power of the appliance. It’s estimated to cost around 31 dollars per year for average use.
Pre Blast Cycle Saves Time
If you don’t have time to rinse dishes before loading the dishwasher, don’t fret. Activate the pre blast cycle, and the dishwasher will pre-rinse the dishes for you.
What We Don't Like
Rinse Aid Recommended
If you skip the rinse aid, you might find water spots on your dishes. This is especially true in a hard-water area.
No Heated Dry
While the AutoRelease door is incredible, it doesn’t benefit you if you need to put dishes away ASAP. It takes around 30 minutes for the dishes to air dry. But unfortunately, there is no heated drying function on this, so if you need to unload the dishwasher sooner, you’ll need to grab a dish towel.

Samsung Top Control Built-In Dishwasher
Best Leak Proof Samsung Dishwasher
Are you worried about your dishwasher leaking? Ruining your floors? Leaking into your downstairs neighbor’s kitchen? Then this is the dishwasher for you.
This Samsung dishwasher has a digital leak sensor. This works by detecting leaks and automatically shutting off the dishwasher to stop the leaks in their tracks. It does this so that no water can escape.
Your floors are protected. Your dishes are clean.
What We Like
Digital Touch Controls
Some dishwashers have really stiff buttons that are hard for some folks to push. This dishwasher has easy-to-press digital touch controls. A gentle tap will allow you to set your cycle and turn on the machine.
Advanced Wash (Great for Pots and Pans)
When you select the heavy cycle on this dishwasher, it uses an advanced wash system. This ensures that every item is sparkling clean — including pots and pans with caked-on food.
Five Control Options
Besides the four practical cycles, this dishwasher also has five control options, so you can customize the cycles.
This includes Hi-Temp for tougher messes. The Sanitize cycle kills germs and bacteria. Use Delay Start to program the dishwasher cycle to start later. The control lock keeps the dishwasher locked from kids. And Heated Dry dries your dishes!
Auto Cycle Detects Best Settings
When you choose the Auto Cycle feature, the appliance will sense the soil levels. Then it automatically chooses the best cycle, so your dishes are spotless, but the dishwasher uses less water and energy.
What We Don't Like
55 dB (Louder)
This is quite a loud dishwasher, especially compared to the average appliances these days. At 55 decibels, you’ll notice it when it’s running. This noise level is similar to a conversation, so it will be noticeable and perhaps even inconvenient, especially during the evenings.
Does the Basics
Although Samsung is innovative, creating mind-boggling technology in many areas, this dishwasher is pretty basic.
Thankfully, it’s a budget-friendly option, so you’re not overpaying. But if you want your dishwasher to do more, we recommend looking elsewhere.
Specifically, this doesn’t do an extraordinary job when it comes to drying dishes. It doesn’t have the AutoRelease door either to aid with air drying.

Washing Performance | Advanced wash |
Drying Capacity | Heated drying and condensation drying |

Our Ratings
Samsung Front Control Built-In Dishwasher
Best Plastic Samsung Dishwasher
Although we would choose stainless steel over plastic dishwashers, plastic dishwashers are still a great option.
In fact, we have one in our own home — no complaints! Plus, plastic is better for some as it’s more budget-friendly.
If you’re in the market for a Samsung plastic dishwasher, check out this model.
What We Like
Digital Touch Controls
While this has a classic look with a front control panel, it’s still a bit more modern. Instead of pressing buttons, it uses digital touch controls, which are easier to press.
Just be careful with kids and pets. It’s easy for them to mess with the buttons, too. Thankfully, a control lock button stops them from starting and pausing the cycle.
Nine Wash Options
You can customize your cycles to suit your dishes with four wash cycles and five control options. The four wash cycles include Auto, Normal, Heavy, and Express 60. The five custom features include Hi-Temp Wash, Sanitize, Delay Start, Control Lock, and Heated Dry.
Digital Leak Sensor
This dishwasher can detect leaks as small as 2.4 ounces. It automatically turns off the appliance to stop the water from escaping, protecting your dishwasher and floors.
Height Adjustable Rack
The upper rack is height adjustable. So you can customize the height according to the dishes on the rack below. This is great if you’re wedging in a tall cutting board or deep pot.
What We Don't Like
Sensitive Buttons
While the buttons are a pro for many people, they’re a con for others. If you brush against the dishwasher, you may accidentally turn it on! It’s important to utilize the control lock button in between uses to avoid this.
Doesn’t Dry Dishes
Although there is a heated and condensation drying function, this dishwasher just doesn’t do a good job. You may find when you open the dishwasher, your dishes are still wet. The AutoRelease door would come in handy here, for sure!

History of Samsung
Samsung is now a huge company, providing innovative technology. But they actually began in 1938 by exporting fish (1)! In the 1950s and 60s, they branched out to life insurance and textiles. Finally, in 1969, they began Samsung Electronics, with their first products being black and white TVs.
Around the 1970s, Samsung began making home appliances and thus began its venture into manufacturing dishwashers. Although they don’t have many models within their collection, what they do have is practical and powerful.
Electronics became their main focus, and in the 1990s, they launched their first mobile phones, which is what they’re best known for today.
In the last couple of years, Samsung has done much more. They unveiled their Samsung Bot, which is a robotics platform, released their 5G smartphone, and introduced their bespoke refrigerator (2).
Are Samsung Dishwashers Reliable?
Samsung dishwashers are very reliable, but they’re still pretty new, so we can’t say for certain how long they will last. However, their service ratio is less than 10 percent which is one of the best across dishwasher brands (3).
Quick Note
How Long Do Samsung Dishwashers Last?
Because Samsung dishwashers are still pretty new, we can’t say for certain. Even a Samsung representative has said they can’t predict the lifespan (5). However, since a registered product has a warranty of five years, it should last a bit longer than that, with most dishwashers across brands lasting around 10 years.
Where Are Samsung Dishwashers Manufactured?
Most Samsung appliances are made in a factory in South Carolina, USA (6).
Types of Samsung Dishwashers
Now that you have some background information on Samsung’s company history, it’s time to show off their dishwashers. They have two main types of dishwashers: freestanding and built-in. Within this category, they also have stainless steel and plastic dishwashers.
Built-In
Built-in dishwashers are built into the cabinet space so that it’s flush with your cabinet area. Once it’s installed, it’s there to stay. You don’t need to move it around, and it won’t wobble around.
Pros
- They don’t stick out.
- Once they’re installed, you don’t need to move them or unplug anything.
- Many options available.
- They are available in a range of prices and styles.
Cons
- You have to sacrifice cabinet space.
- Not everybody has space for them.
Stainless Steel
The interior of dishwashers falls into two categories: stainless steel and plastic. Samsung also makes hybrid tubs made of both these materials. But stainless steel is always our number one choice.
Pros
- Highly durable and long-lasting material.
- Helps with getting dry dishes.
- Many options from Samsung.
- Sturdy build.
- Easy to clean.
Cons
- More expensive.
- You can’t use bleach to clean it.
Plastic
Plastic is a good choice for dishwasher tubs, especially if you’re on a budget. But if you can afford the little extra money, stainless steel is a more durable choice.
Pros
- Budget-friendly.
- You can clean it with bleach.
- Available in hybrid choices.
Cons
- Not as durable.
- Not as easy to clean.
- Not as many options.
The Bottom Line
Freestanding
A freestanding or portable dishwasher is suitable for people who live in smaller homes and don’t have space for a built-in dishwasher. You need to install it near a sink and a power outlet, but it’s an excellent solution for many folks.
Pros
- Great for smaller homes.
- Big enough for families.
- More affordable pricing.
- You can be flexible with where you put it.
- They still run fairly quietly.
Cons
- Currently unavailable in the US.
- It needs to be near a sink for installation.
- 14 place settings maximum.
Things to Consider
Besides looking at the different types of Samsung dishwashers, what other factors should you consider?
