Product Reviews

After hours of research into customer reviews, product description and expert advice — we have the list of the seven best Samsung dishwashers, plus reviews.

1. Samsung Linear Wash 39 dBA Dishwasher

Best Quiet Samsung Dishwasher

39 decibels is the quietest dishwashers can go. It is nearly silent, and you’d have to listen really hard to know that it’s running.

Once you shut the kitchen door behind you, though, you’ll have no idea it’s running!

If you’re in the market for a quiet Samsung dishwasher, then this is the option for you!

What We Like

Exterior Design

Of course, it’s what’s on the inside of a dishwasher that matters. But the exterior is still important! Firstly, this exterior is fingerprint resistant so it looks good when it arrives, and it will stay good looking.

Secondly, it’s available in three colors: stainless steel, tuscan and black. Lastly, it has a nice pocket handle that makes the dishwasher look classy. That’s not all — it has a digital screen that displays the remaining time!

Linear Wash

This dishwasher uses a fancy cleaning system called Linear Wash. That works by using blasted jets that allow corner to corner coverage which provides 100 percent cleaning.

Wi-Fi Connect

This dishwasher has smart control. You can use the app to monitor and control the dishwasher from your phone. So whether you’re tucked up in bed or out with friends, you can control your dishwasher.

What We Don't Like

No Heated Dry

With condensation drying and the AutoRelease door, it does an adequate job of drying. Still, it doesn’t have a heated drying element, which is a drawback for some customers.

Not Spacious Enough

Although there are 15 place settings and a third rack, it’s a tight squeeze. The third rack isn’t very spacious, and utensils need to be very thin to fit.

When the third rack is in, you lose space on the other racks, too. This feels quite a bit smaller than other models on the market.

Product Specs

Noise Level 39 decibels
Washing Performance Linear Wash and Zone Booster
Drying Capacity Condensation drying and AutoRelease door
Dishwasher Capacity 15 place settings
Extra Features LED display, adjustable rack, and Express 60

2. Samsung StormWash™ Dishwasher with AutoRelease

Best Stylish Samsung Dishwasher

All Samsung dishwashers are pretty aesthetically pleasing, so you can’t go wrong with any model. But we think this one sticks out from the crowd.

With its pocket handle and flawless gray finish — it brings a new sense of futuristic technology into the kitchen.

If you don’t like the gray, it’s also available in black. Overall, it just looks a lot more expensive than it actually is!

What We Like

42 Decibels

You’ll barely hear this dishwasher while it’s running. At only 42 decibels, this dishwasher is nearly quiet. So not only does it look good in your kitchen, but it creates a peaceful atmosphere which is especially useful during the evening time.

Fingerprint Resistant

If you’re going to get a dishwasher this good-looking, you want it to stay classy! Thankfully, this dishwasher is fingerprint-resistant. So if your kids are running around, plastering their hands to every appliance, at least you know this one won’t get dirty and grimy.

Hidden Heating Element

The heating element on many dishwashers is exposed. This is fine, but it can be dangerous if items fall off the racks and land near the heating element. The heating element on this dishwasher is hidden so it’s extra safe. Plus, it won’t warp your plastics!

What We Don't Like

Small Interior

If you’re going from another dishwasher to this one, you might be surprised by the interior size. Many customers were taken aback by the construction of the inside. They reported that they couldn’t fit as much in this as their previous dishwasher.

No Heated Dry

This dishwasher uses condensation drying and the AutoRelease door to get your dishes dry. This does involve waiting around 30 minutes after the cycle is finished to retrieve your dishes and put them away. There is no heated dry option, which is a big drawback for some folks.

Product Specs

Noise Level 42 decibels
Washing Performance StormWash
Drying Capacity Condensation drying and AutoRelease door
Dishwasher Capacity 15 place settings
Extra Features Third rack, adjustable racks, and hidden heating element

3. Samsung - StormWash™ With 3rd Rack

Best Drying Samsung Dishwasher

Samsung dishwashers rely on their AutoRelease door to bring dishes to 100 percent dryness. However, this model has both condensation and heating drying as another option.

While the AutoRelease door is awesome, you do have to wait a little while once the cycle is finished. That’s not always convenient.

Instead, use the heated dry cycle on this to get your dishes dry so you can put them away immediately.

What We Like

StormWash Spray

As well as drying, this dishwasher does a grand job at cleaning, too. It has six wash cycles, as well as the option to turn on StormWash. StormWash uses rotating jets to get into hard-to-reach places so that everything comes out clean.

Third Rack

With 15 place settings and a third rack, this dishwasher has enough space for everyone in the family, plus guests! You can adjust the third rack, too. If it’s getting in the way, simply remove it.

Do a Half Load

We love the idea of a half-load option. Sometimes you want to run a half cycle, especially on weekends when you’re enjoying leftovers or takeaways! But you can’t always justify running the dishwasher when there’s only a few things in it. Well, now you can because this dishwasher has a half load cycle which uses less energy and less water, but still gets the dishes clean!

What We Don't Like

Lose Height Space

If you keep the third rack, you will be losing height space on the bottom rack. So while the third rack is in place, you may struggle to fit in large bowls, pots, pans, and baking trays.

Long Cycles

The normal cycle on this dishwasher is over 2.5 hours. If you add in the StormWash, it’s even longer. This is pretty average for a dishwasher, but keep that in mind, because many customers dislike the cycle lengths.

Product Specs

Noise Level 48 decibels
Washing Performance StormWash
Drying Capacity Condensation drying, heated drying and AutoRelease door
Dishwasher Capacity 15 place settings
Extra Features Third rack, adjustable racks, and half load option

4. Samsung StormWash™ Built-In Dishwasher

Best Spacious Samsung Dishwasher

If you’re in a big family, you know the struggle when it comes to handwashing dishes. It takes forever, and there’s always an argument! That’s why you need a dishwasher for your home, and what better recommendation is there than the Samsung Stormwash dishwasher?

It has room for 15 place settings so nobody has to wash their plate by hand. Plus, it has a third rack for utensils and flat items. This leaves more room for cups and bowls on the top rack!

Get everything done in one load so you have more time for family. Plus, you spend less time on household chores.

What We Like

StormWash Spray

If you’re worried about unclean dishes at the end of the cycle, then this is a fantastic choice of dishwasher. The StormWash spray uses rotating spray jets that get into hard to reach places so that every last item is sparkling clean and ready to be put away.

AutoRelease Door

At the end of the cycle, the door will automatically open. This assists with air drying everything until it’s 100 percent dry and ready to be put away.

This feature is great if you’re asleep or out of the house. When you go back to the kitchen, your dishes will be done and dusted for you!

Adjustable Racks

You can adjust the racks in this dishwasher which is ideal if you are washing taller items. You can simply reposition the top rack to make more space. This is also great if you have taller items on the top and the third rack is getting in the way a bit.

What We Don't Like

Quick Wash Inadequate

Like the sound of getting your dishes done in 60 minutes? We do too, but keep in mind that this works best for extremely lightly soiled dishes like mugs and cups. If you have caked on food, it won’t do the job.

Unclean Dishes?

The majority of the complaints about this dishwasher is that it just doesn’t do as good a job as other models or brands.

Of course, the majority of customers don’t have this issue. It also does take a bit of time to get used to, but unless you use the StormWash setting every time — you may have this problem. Using the StormWash feature extends the cycle, so it’s not ideal every day.

Product Specs

Noise Level 48 decibels
Washing Performance StormWash
Drying Capacity Condensation drying and AutoRelease door
Dishwasher Capacity 15 place settings
Extra Features Third rack, adjustable racks, and half load option

5. Samsung StormWash™ Top Control Dishwasher

Best Budget Samsung Dishwasher

There are many budget-friendly Samsung options in their range, but this is the most affordable dishwasher option.

Despite saying earlier that plastic was cheaper, you’ll be excited to hear that this is actually stainless steel. So it’s affordable and durable!

Better yet, this product is also fingerprint-resistant. So even if your kids smear their hands all over it, it will remain looking clean and luxurious.

What We Like

StormWash Spray

This dishwasher also has StormWash. No need to pre-rinse dishes ever again. The rotating jets make sure that dishes get clean no matter what angle they’re at, or where they’re placed in the dishwasher.

Digital Leak Sensor

Nobody wants a leaky dishwasher, especially if you live in an apartment and have neighbours below you. Thankfully, this dishwasher has a super cool leak sensor. It detects leaks and shuts off the appliance immediately to ensure that your floors and dishwasher are safe and protected.

FlexLoad racks give you more versatility when it comes to loading the dishwasher. The standard dishwasher layout isn’t one size fits all. That’s why we love this option! You can change up the racking system to make sure that every item fits in.

What We Don't Like

Bottom Rack Design

Keep in mind that many people aren’t a fan of the bottom rack design. They find it hard to fit everything in because of the way it’s spaced.

The tines are too close together which isn’t suitable for larger bowls or plates. It also means that if you have really dirty plates, they don’t always come out clean because there’s not enough space for the water and dishwasher detergent to really tackle the dirt.

Long Cycles

If you don’t want to wait hours for your dishes to be done, then you may want to consider another option. When utilizing the StormWash feature, the cycle takes over three hours. A normal cycle is just under three hours.

Product Specs

Noise Level 48 decibels
Washing Performance StormWash
Drying Capacity Condensation drying and AutoRelease door
Dishwasher Capacity 15 place settings
Extra Features Indicator light, leak sensor, and FlexLoad

6. Samsung Top Control Built-In Dishwasher

Best Leak Proof Samsung Dishwasher

Are you worried about your dishwasher leaking? Ruining your floors? Leaking into your downstairs neighbour’s kitchen? Then this is the dishwasher for you.

This Samsung dishwasher has a digital leak sensor. This works by detecting leaks and automatically shutting off the dishwasher to stop the leaks in their tracks. It does this so that no water can escape.

Your floors are protected. Your dishes are clean.

What We Like

Digital Touch Controls

Some dishwashers have really stiff buttons that are hard for some folks to push. This dishwasher has easy-to-press digital touch controls. A gentle tap will allow you to set your cycle and turn on the machine.

Advanced Wash

When you select the heavy cycle on this dishwasher, it uses an advanced wash system. This ensures that every item is sparkling clean — including pots and pans with caked on food.

Five Control Options

Besides the four practical cycles, this dishwasher also has five control options so you can customize the cycles.

This includes Hi-Temp for tougher messes. The Sanitize cycle kills germs and bacteria. Use Delay Start to programme the dishwasher cycle to start later. The control lock keeps the dishwasher locked from kids. And Heated Dry dries your dishes!

What We Don't Like

55 dB

This is quite a loud dishwasher, especially compared to the average appliances these days. At 55 decibels, you’ll notice it when it’s running. This noise level is similar to a conversation, so it will be noticeable, and perhaps even inconvenient, especially during the evenings.

Does the Basics

Although Samsung is an innovative company, creating mind-boggling technology in many areas, this dishwasher is pretty basic.

Thankfully, it’s a budget-friendly option, so you’re not over-paying. But if you want your dishwasher to do more, we recommend looking elsewhere. Specifically when it comes to drying dishes — this doesn’t do an extraordinary job. It doesn’t have the AutoRelease door either to aid with air drying.

Product Specs

Noise Level 55 decibels
Washing Performance Advanced wash
Drying Capacity Heated drying and condensation drying
Dishwasher Capacity 14 place settings
Extra Features Digital leak sensor and adjustable racks

7. Samsung Front Control Built-In Dishwasher

Best Plastic Samsung Dishwasher

Although we would choose stainless steel over plastic dishwashers, plastic dishwashers are still a great option.

In fact, we have one in our own home — no complaints! Plus, plastic is better for some as it’s more budget-friendly.

If you’re in the market for a plastic dishwasher from Samsung, then check out this model.

What We Like

Digital Touch Controls

While this has a classic look with a front control panel, it’s still a bit more modern. Instead of press buttons, it uses digital touch controls which are easier to press. Just be careful with kids and pets. It’s easy for them to mess with the buttons, too. Thankfully, there is a control lock button to stop them from starting and pausing the cycle.

Wash Options

With four wash cycles and five control options, you can customize your cycles to suit your dishes. The four wash cycles include Auto, Normal, Heavy and Express 60. The five custom features include Hi-Temp Wash, Sanitize, Delay Start, Control Lock, and Heated Dry.

Digital Leak Sensor

This dishwasher can detect leaks as small as 2.4 ounces. It automatically turns off the appliance to stop the water from escaping which protects your dishwasher and your floors.

What We Don't Like

Sensitive Buttons

While the buttons are a pro for many people, they’re a con for others. We wanted to let you know that they’re sensitive to touch. If you brush against the dishwasher, you may accidentally turn it on! It’s important to utilize the control lock button in between uses to avoid this.

Doesn’t Dry Dishes

Although there is a heated and condensation drying function, this dishwasher just doesn’t do a good job. You may find when you open the dishwasher, your dishes are still wet. The AutoRelease door would come in handy here, for sure!

Product Specs

Noise Level 51 decibels
Washing Performance Advanced wash
Drying Capacity Heated drying and condensation drying
Dishwasher Capacity 15 place settings
Extra Features Adjustable racks and digital leak sensors

History of Samsung

Samsung is now a huge company, providing innovative technology. But they actually began in 1938 by exporting fish (1)! In the 1950s and 60s, they branched out to life insurance and textiles. Finally, in 1969, they began Samsung Electronics with their first products being black and white TVs.

Around the 1970s, Samsung began making home appliances, and thus began their venture into manufacturing dishwashers. Although they don’t have many models within their collection, what they do have is practical and powerful.

Electronics became their main focus, and in the 1990s, they launched their first mobile phones which is what they’re best known for today.

In the last couple of years, Samsung has done much more. They unveiled their Samsung Bot, which is a robotics platform, released their 5G smartphone, and introduced their bespoke refrigerator (2).

Are Samsung Dishwashers Reliable?

Samsung dishwashers are very reliable, but they’re still pretty new so we can’t say for certain how long they will last. However, their service ratio is around 10.33 percent which is one of the best across dishwasher brands (3). The average service ratio is 13.55 percent.

Quick Note

When you look at the warranty, your mind will be at ease though. Samsung offers a 24-month warranty, but if you register your appliance within 90 days of purchasing it, you get a five-year warranty for free (4)!

How Long Do Samsung Dishwashers Last?

Because Samsung dishwashers are still pretty new, we can’t say for certain. Even a Samsung representative has said they can’t predict the lifespan (5). However, since a registered product has a warranty of five years, it should last a bit longer than that, with most dishwashers across brands lasting around 10 years.

Where Are Samsung Dishwashers Manufactured?

Samsung appliances are currently made across South Korea, China, Thailand and Vietnam. But Samsung does have a new factory in South Carolina, USA, where more and more appliances are being made (6).

Types of Samsung Dishwashers

Now that you have a bit of background information on Samsung’s company history, it’s time to show off their dishwashers. They have two main types of dishwashers: freestanding and built-in. Within this category, they also have stainless steel and plastic dishwashers.

Built-in dishwashers are built into the cabinet space so that it’s flush with your cabinet area.

  • They don’t stick out.
  • Once they’re installed, you don’t need to move it or unplug anything.
  • Many options.
  • They are available in a range of prices and styles.

  • You have to sacrifice cabinet space.
  • Not everybody has space for them.

Stainless Steel

The interior of dishwashers fall into two categories: stainless steel and plastic. Samsung also makes hybrid tubs made of both these materials. But stainless steel is always our number one choice.

  • Durable.
  • Helps with getting dry dishes.
  • Many options.
  • Sturdy.
  • Easy to clean.

  • More expensive.
  • You can’t use bleach to clean it.

Plastic is a good choice for dishwasher tubs, especially if you’re on a budget. But if you can afford the little extra money, stainless steel is a more durable choice.

  • Budget friendly.
  • You can clean it with bleach.
  • Available in hybrid choices.

  • Not as durable.
  • Not as easy to clean.
  • Not as many options.

The Bottom Line

We recommend getting a stainless steel built-in dishwasher if you want the best of the best from Samsung. However, we will share our top recommendation for a plastic dishwasher, too.

A freestanding, or portable dishwasher is ideal for people who live in smaller homes and don’t have space for a built-in dishwasher.

  • Great for smaller homes.
  • Big enough for families.
  • More affordable.
  • You can be flexible with where you put it.
  • Quiet.

  • Currently unavailable in the US.
  • It needs to be near a sink for installation.
  • 14 place settings maximum.

How to Choose (Buying Guide)

Besides looking at the different types of Samsung dishwashers, what other factors should you consider?

Noise Level

Dishwasher noises are measured in decibels. The higher this number, the louder the dishwasher. If you want something nearly silent, look for dishwashers between 39 and 42 decibels. Anything below 50 is good. As this number increases, it will be significantly more noticeable.

Washing Performance

Samsung has a variety of features that suggest how powerful its washing performance is. Look for these features below if you want something extra tough.

Water Wall

This jet-powered cleaning system uses a sweeping wall of water that covers every single item in the dishwasher.

Storm Wash

Instead of your average spray arm, Storm Wash dishwashers use rotating jets that get into hard to reach spots. That way, your dishes come out sparkling clean every time.

Zone Booster

Zone Booster allows you to target both delicate and heavy items in the same wash. You don’t need to do two loads of dishes. Zone Booster has two controllable zones so you can get efficient cleaning depending on your needs.

Dishwasher Capacity

Of course, you want your dishwasher to be spacious enough for everyone in the family. You can check this by looking at the place setting capacity. If you want a bit of extra room, then check if your dishwasher has a third rack which provides more space for utensils.

Drying Capacity

Samsung dishwashers use condensation and heated drying, depending on the model. But many of their dishwashers also use an AutoRelease Dry which automatically opens the door at the end of the cycle to aid with air drying.

Extra Features

Dishwashers these days are not without their extra features. Have a look at the details to see what other features the dishwasher includes. This could be, for example, LED lights, adjustable racks, leak sensors, half load cycles and much more.

Samsung dishwashers do come in a range of prices to suit most budgets. Always check the price before buying.

All Samsung dishwashers have a 24-month warranty, plus the option to upgrade that to five years when you register your product.

However, some distributors have different warranties. So you’d have to check with them if the registration warranty clause still applies.

Is Samsung Calling You?

Has this list of the seven best Samsung dishwasher reviews called your name? Is there one on this list sticking out from the crowd? If you’re in the market for a dishwasher, Samsung is a great choice. With their incredible washing performance features, automatic door and digital leak sensors, they are one of a kind!

So which one will it be? Maybe you want something quiet, like our 39 decibel option. Or perhaps, you want something with all three drying functions. Last but not least, if you’re on a budget, you’re in luck with Samsung!
