The Best Electric Pressure Washers of 2024

To create this list, I spent hours researching real customer reviews, expert advice, and dozens of products. When you’re in the market for an electric pressure washer, I know you want something easy to use but still powerful. That’s why I investigated each product’s PSI and GPM, as well as all its special features.

Here are the seven best electric pressure washers that money can buy.

Sun Joe SPX3000 Pressure Washer

Most Versatile

I recommend choosing a pressure washer that can handle any job. Most electric pressure washers can, but this Sun Joe one is a great choice if you’re specifically looking in that department.

At 2030 PSI, it’s amazing for cleaning various surfaces without causing any damage, scratches, or chipping paint.

However, no matter what PSI you go for, make sure to start a few feet back to check for signs of damage before moving closer and taking advantage of the high PSI rating.

What We Like

Great for All Cleaning Projects

Put this pressure washer to the test on many different projects. You can use this for cleaning patios, buildings, vehicles, boats, driveways, lawn equipment, and much more. Customers also love that it comes with a detergent tank which makes it great for cleaning stubborn dirt.

Total Stop System

This pressure washer automatically shuts off when the pump isn’t engaged. This is a safety feature, but it also saves energy and protects the pump’s life.

Includes All Necessary Accessories

No need to break the bank by getting extra accessories you wished were included. This comes with two removable detergent tanks, an extension wand, and a 20-foot high-pressure hose. There’s also a needle cleaning tool, a garden hose adapter, a 35-foot power cord, and five quick-connect spray tips.

Durable Stainless Steel Construction

The lance and garden hose adaptor are made from stainless steel and brass, ensuring they last a long time. If you’re after reliability, this is one to consider. I especially appreciate that it’s super quick and easy to connect it to your garden hose.

What We Don't Like

Uses European Connections

One big issue with this pressure washer is that it uses European connection measurements. So if you want to add on any extra accessories, you have to make sure the dimensions will match.

Some unlucky customers even got sent US accessories that didn’t fit with the European dimensions, meaning they experienced leaks.

Takes Longer To Clean Than Gas

Customers found that this product took longer to clean surfaces compared to gas pressure washers. Of course, the power is a bit lower, but keep in mind that you will need to have patience. If using for commercial practices, you might want to consider a different option.

User Experience

This pressure washer has been a pleasant surprise, despite my initial doubts about electric models. It's lightweight and fairly quiet, making it easy to handle and enjoyable to use. The 2000 psi power is enough for most home cleaning jobs, although it does require getting quite close to the surface for effective cleaning. One downside is the short 20-foot hose, which can be limiting when reaching high places or maneuvering around large areas.

WholeSun 3000PSI Electric High Pressure Washer

Most Powerful

Although most electric pressure washers don’t exceed 2000 PSI, some do.

If you’re looking for an electric model with the power of a gas pressure washer, then I recommend the WholeSun model.

It has a super-strong PSI of 2150, so it can blast away tough stains, dirt, and all other nasties that build up around your home.

What We Like

High Power Pressure Washing

If you’re after something that can do heavy-duty cleaning, this is it. With a PSI rating of 2150 and a GPM of 1.58, this will provide incredible cleaning power to blast away dirt and grime. Take this to any surface (safely, of course), such as decks, siding, cars, outdoor power equipment, driveways, and more.

Four Quick Connect Nozzles

This comes with four quick connect nozzles, making switching from one to the next super easy. This includes zero degrees, 15, 25, and 40. These are great for light, medium, and heavy-duty cleaning on various surfaces.

Total Stop System

This is a handy feature to have on your pressure washer. The total stop system has an automatic shutoff system, adding extra safety measures. When the trigger is locked, you can’t operate the trigger gun. This saves energy and protects the life of the pressure washer pump.

Includes Foam Cannon

Don’t let stubborn dirt beat you. Use the incredible foam cannon that’s included with this product. This high-pressure foamer can distribute a great amount of detergent across surfaces, allowing you to blast away tough stains without problem.

What We Don't Like

Strength High for Some Tasks

2150 PSI is pretty high. If you use this too close to a delicate object, like a car, it can cause damage. It can dent surfaces, scratch them, chip paint, and more.

So be careful when using on more delicate surfaces, and also start from a good few feet away.

Small Foam Cannon

While the foam cannon is a helpful addition, the tank is pretty small. So if you want to use it to wash your car, you may have to interrupt your cleaning flow a few times to refill the tank.

Personal Perspective

My experience with this electric pressure washer has been quite satisfactory overall. The compact size and lightweight design make it easy to maneuver, and the metal connectors provide a sense of durability. I appreciate the convenience of the hose reel for storage and protection, despite the stiffness of the hose itself. This product delivers impressive cleaning results, whether it's for washing my car, cleaning garden tools, or even refreshing outdoor furniture. However, I do wish there was an integrated storage solution for the unused nozzles to prevent losing them. Despite this minor drawback, the standard-sized hose and nozzles ensure easy replacement, and the performance of this power washer has exceeded my expectations.

Westinghouse ePX3050 Electric Pressure Washer

Most Reliable

Even budget-friendly pressure washers can be expensive, so it’s no doubt you’re looking for something reliable that will perform for many hours.

The Westinghouse pressure washer is super reliable, and thousands of satisfied customers back that up.

It even comes with a three-year warranty! So you can rest assured that you’re covered if anything goes wrong in that time.

What We Like

Built-in Soap Tank

The onboard soap tank is something one must take into consideration when buying a reliable pressure washer, as it helps speed up the process of cleaning with minimal effort instead of having a separate bucket.

So you know that tough grime and dirt clinging to your surfaces? Get rid of it with this pressure washer.

With 2050 PSI, it still gets the job done. This is energy efficient as the pump auto-shuts when the trigger is not engaged.

Store and Transport With Ease

It’s a total breeze to store and transport this pressure washer. The high-quality quick connect nozzle makes it easy to store and get it going.

The design is compact and upright with mounted wheels so that you can roll it behind you with total ease. No need for heavy lifting.

Great for Car Washing

Put this to the test by pressure washing your cars. It comes with a detergent tank and a soap nozzle for easy and quick cleaning. Just be sure never to spray water in the engine, and don’t use the high-pressure nozzles as this can damage the paint.

User-Friendly Feautres

This pressure washer is jam-packed with user-friendly features. I love the easy push start button, which gets this unit up and running in no time. It also features 360-degree lockable wheels so that you can move this around without issue, then lock it in place so it doesn’t roll away.

It also has built-in nozzle storage, so you don’t lose small pieces, as well as a garden hose adapter.

What We Don't Like

Soap Dispenser Could Be Better

Some customers were unimpressed with the soap container as it runs small. Thus it may need plenty of refills for large-area cleaning.

Missing Parts

Quite a few customers complained that there were parts missing. Whether it was a nozzle or the instructions, it definitely doesn’t make it the most exciting unboxing experience!

Community Feedback

Love how this compact electric power washer exceeded my expectations! It was easy to assemble, and despite its small size, it had enough pressure to handle various cleaning tasks like concrete slabs and patio. The additional tips on the front of the machine made it convenient to switch between tasks, and the wheel locks ensured that it stayed in place. One minor issue is the hose input port which could have been made of metal for better durability.

Worx WG601 Electric Pressure Washer

Easiest To Use

The Worx electrical pressure washer prides itself on being easy to use. So if you’re new to the world of pressure washing, this is a great place to start.

Firstly, it’s easy to transport, thanks to the carry handle. You can pick it up, like a bag, and move it around with you.

Secondly, changing the nozzles is quick and simple. So if you need to go from one angle to another, you can do this without problems.

Lastly, it’s 1500 PSI, so it’s easy to use on most surfaces without the risk of damage. The ergonomic design and handy construction put much power into a user-friendly model. I think you’ll love this!

What We Like

On-Board Nozzle Storage

Keep the included nozzles on the pressure washer with the onboard storage. This minimizes the risk of losing anything and makes it easy to grab what you need quickly.

Change Nozzles Quickly

There’s nothing more annoying than something interrupting your DIY flow. Thankfully, the useful connect design lets you change nozzles over super quickly.

Included Axial Cam Pump

If you’re looking for a reliable pressure washer, look no further. This comes with a handy axial cam pump that’s integrated into the machine. This provides both power and efficiency to the machine.

1.85 Gallons Per Minute

The reason I’m calling this out is that while it’s a lot of power, it’s not a lot of water. So you can save money, water, and energy when cleaning around the home, thanks to the GPM.

What We Don't Like

Nowhere To Store Hose and Cord

The cord and hose are long, and there’s nowhere to store them on the machine. Without wheels on the machine, either, every time you move it, you need to carry the machine, the hose, and the cord, as well as keeping the spray gun off the ground. It’s a bit of a faff.

Best for Light Cleaning

If you have tough stains like moss or algae, this might not be able to eradicate every last mark. At 1500 PSI, it’s strong but not overly so.

First-Hand Impression

Best electric pressure washer I've tried so far! This product is powerful enough to clean dirty brick and concrete walkways, as well as wooden decks without damaging the paint. The turbo nozzle is especially helpful for covering larger areas quickly. While the hose connection could be sturdier, the overall performance and ease of use make this pressure washer a solid choice for small home projects and car washing.

Craftsman Electric Pressure Washer

Best Budget Pick

The Craftsman pressure washer is an excellent option if you don’t want to spend a fortune, but you still want a quality option. It is much cheaper than the average pressure washer, so it shouldn’t break the bank too much.

It comes with a soap applicator and two nozzles, too. This makes it great for versatile cleaning. You can easily change the nozzle depending on the job.

With a PSI of 1700 and a GPM of 1.2, you’re going to get incredible power with this machine.

What We Like

Delivers Brilliant Cleaning Results

Worried about your electric pressure washer not delivering maximum cleaning? The power of this model can blast away stubborn dirt quickly, within minutes. You can save tons of time, energy, and water by using this since it works fast.

Built-In Accessory Storage

With a built-in cord wrap and a place to store accessories, you can keep everything in one place. Not only is this convenient for you, but it protects the accessories from damage while you transport and store the pressure washer.

Lightweight (Less Than 18 Pounds)

Weighing 17.8 pounds, this comes with two interchangeable nozzles and a soap applicator. This makes sure that the pressure washer is ideal for all kinds of jobs, whether you’re washing fences, concrete, windows, siding, wood surfaces, and more. It’s the second lightest electric pressure washer option on the list.

Included Soap Applicator

I’m very impressed that this budget option includes a soap applicator. Even the most expensive options don’t always feature this.

If you want to apply detergent to surfaces before cleaning, it’s easier than ever before, thanks to this included detergent tank!

What We Don't Like

Short Hose

It is worth mentioning that the hose can only be extended for up to 20 feet, making others wish for an added hose length to cover wider areas for cleaning.

Foam Tank Easily Breaks

Don’t get too excited about the foam tank just yet. A few customers reported that it broke or started leaking after only a few uses. While this is a pretty rare problem and should be covered by warranty, it’s still worth noting.

User Experience

This Craftsman pressure washer is an affordable yet high-quality option for those looking to tackle various cleaning tasks without breaking the bank. I appreciated the included soap applicator and two nozzles, making it versatile and easy to switch between jobs. With a PSI of 1700 and a GPM of 1, this product delivers impressive cleaning power. It's also lightweight and has built-in storage, which I found to be a great bonus. However, one downside is the short hose, so keep that in mind when considering this pressure washer.

Stanley SHP1600 Electric Pressure Washer

Best Lightweight Electric Pressure Washer

This model from Stanley is an excellent option for those seeking a lightweight and easy-to-maneuver choice.

Weighing only 15.21 pounds, it’s practical to use, especially for a non-portable option.

Thanks to its lightweight design, you’ll love how easy it is to carry and move around the house. Plus, it’s perfect for all kinds of tasks, even if you haven’t hit the gym lately!

What We Like

Cleaning Force Suits a Variety of Tasks

The 1600 PSI is powerful, but not to the point where it’s too dangerous for certain surfaces. You can put this to the test on siding, cement, outdoor furniture, RVs, cars, trucks, pool tiles, sidewalks, and much more.

Included Detergent Tank

This comes with an included detergent tank making it easier than ever to use soap for specific jobs. I love this for cleaning vehicles, as the soap makes it super easy to blast away stubborn dirt.

Variable Degree Nozzle

Instead of multiple separate nozzles, you need to connect, this has a variable nozzle. You can simply turn it to change the degree setting. This saves you time and prevents you from losing valuable nozzles.

Comfortable To Use

This unit is pretty compact and lightweight, weighing only around 15 pounds. So if you’re not made of muscle, I think you’ll still find this a breeze to use. Plus, it has an ergonomic handle that’s nice and comfy to hold.

What We Don't Like

Average Soap Dispenser

While the detergent tank is useful, the soap dispenser leaves much to be desired. It’s awkward and time-consuming to add the soap nozzle to the machine.

Plus, it doesn’t have much pressure when you do use it. It makes it kind of pointless to use for certain jobs.

Wand Includes a Properitary Tip

This wand uses a proprietary tip since it has a variable-degree nozzle. This means you can’t add on other nozzles or accessories, which many customers wished they could.

Personal Perspective

My experience with this electric pressure washer has been a mix of pros and cons. On one hand, it's compact and affordable, making it great for simple tasks like cleaning driveways and rinsing off dirt from tires. However, the proprietary wand and limited accessory options are disappointing, forcing me to spend extra money on aftermarket parts to get the full functionality I desired.

Greenworks Pro TruBrushless Electric Pressure Washer

Best Accessories

The more accessories a pressure washer has, the more versatile it is. This pressure washer comes with some great add-ons!

This includes a spray nozzle, an adjustable quick connect wand, soap & turbo nozzle. These handy accessories will make your household tasks easier and more efficient. They offer a simple solution for a variety of tasks.

What We Like

Universal and Strong Motor

The universal motor on this pressure washer provides a maximum PSI rating of 2300 which is great for almost all tasks!

It also has a strong flow of 2.3 GPM which provides incredible cleaning power. You can use this for vehicles, decks, siding, sheds, driveways, and much more.

Adjustable Nozzle for Quick Changes

No need for tons of different nozzles with this. It has an adjustable nozzle with a zero to 40-degree spray angle.

You can now quickly change the angle while you go, making it easier to tackle various jobs. Plus, no need to worry about losing spray nozzles.

Safe Technology Included

This pressure washer has a complete stop system that automatically powers down the pump motor when you’re not engaging with the cleaner. This saves energy and protects the pump.

Handy Hoses Included

This features a 35-foot power cord that works on exterior outlets. You’ll also find the 25-foot hose is kink-resistant, ensuring even water flow at all times.

What We Don't Like

Cheap Construction

Some customers found the construction to be quite cheap. This is a pretty budget-friendly pressure washer, so it won’t be the most quality equipment but do keep that in mind. Some customers also experience leaks due to the material used.

User-Unfriendly Build

I love a user-friendly product when researching, but this one just didn’t fit the bill. Customers complained of the cord and hose storage to the point it sounds like a nightmare to get this thing up and running. You might also find the gun holder doesn’t work, making storing the gun between uses difficult.

Community Feedback

This Greenworks 2300psi power washer has its pros and cons. Assembly was a bit of a challenge due to poor instructions and a missing washer, but once assembled, it performed well on various tasks such as cleaning decks, walkways, and even a koi pond. The wand holster is a major design flaw, causing the wand to fall out during use, and the unit is louder than expected. Additionally, the hose can be difficult to manage and may require a separate purchase for an un-kinkable version.

Gas vs. Electric Pressure Washers

If you’re considering an electric pressure washer, here are some of the advantages they have over a gas one:

  • Eco-friendly: Rather than running on fuel, they run on battery power, or they are connected to an outlet. This makes them a greener option since they don’t emit fumes.
  • Tackle various jobs safely: While the PSI rating is usually lower than gas pressure washers, this makes them more versatile for various jobs. They are less likely to cause damage, chip, or crack surfaces, so you can use them for various tasks.
  • Saves money: Electric pressure washers are generally more affordable than gas ones by about one-third.
  • Easy to carry around: Electric pressure washers are more lightweight and easier to maneuver, making them a breeze to use for various tasks.
  • Cheaper in the long run: You don’t need to keep buying fuel and oil to maintain them running. Once you’ve bought your pressure washer, that’s the cost finished. There are no extra running costs.

How To Choose the Best Electric Pressure Washer

Before you buy any old electric pressure washer, consider these key details to help you find the best electric pressure washer for your needs.

Power

A pressure washer’s power is measured in PSI — pound per square inch — and GPM — gallons per minute. Electric pressure washers usually have a PSI of between 500 and 2000, but I included some recommendations up to 2300.

For general cleaning, sticking between 2000 and 3000 is ideal as it’s strong but won’t cause damage. For heavy-duty cleaning, choose anything above 3000. For light cleaning, I recommend something below 2000.

GPM for electric pressure washers is generally between 1.2 and 2.8. The higher this number, the more powerful the machine will be.

Keep In Mind

Anything under 1000 may be too light for some dirt and stains. These low numbers are usually found in portable electric pressure washers. If you’re after something lightweight and easy to maneuver like this, keep in mind that you will be sacrificing power.

Features

Certain features will make an electric pressure washer more user-friendly. Look out for things like:

  • Total stop systems: The machine automatically shuts off to save energy and protect the pump.
  • Detergent tanks: If you want to use soap and pressure washer detergent with your machine, it’s important to choose one with a detergent tank.
  • Wheels: If you don’t want a portable pressure washer but still want something that’s easy to navigate, choose one on wheels.
  • Hose reel: Hose reels make hose storage and transport easier and safer.

There are lots of other features available, so check what each specific model offers.

Power Cord Length

Power cord lengths vary from about 16 to 40 feet. I recommend looking at anything from 30 feet and longer.

Ease of Use

Nobody wants a pressure washer with so many bells and whistles that it’s a pain to use, especially if this is your first time. I recommend choosing one with certain features that make the pressure washer easier to use. This could include an easy-to-press trigger, a lightweight, adjustable nozzles, or quick-connect tips.

Hose Length

Pressure washer hose length preferences differ between people. Some like a longer one so they have more flexibility, while others prefer a shorter one, which is sometimes easier to use. Hose length typically varies from 16 to 25 feet.

Budget

Electric pressure washers typically vary from about $50 to $250, with the majority being between $100 and $200. If you’re on a budget, there are many great options on the lower end of the price scale.

Accessories

Look out for some helpful attachments and accessories that will enhance your pressure-washing experience. This could include a variety of nozzles, a soap nozzle, a brush nozzle, a spray gun, and more.

Warranty

Check the warranty to see how long damage and malfunctions will be covered. A good warranty is around two years, but some have one-year warranties, while others have a bit longer.

FAQs

Are Electric Pressure Washers Any Good?

Yes! If you’re after a pressure washer for home use, electric pressure washers are the way to go.

Gas pressure washers are undoubtedly more powerful, but they’re not always necessary for home use. They’re more aimed at commercial jobs.

What Can I Do With an Electric Pressure Washer?

Thankfully, you can do most jobs with an electric pressure washer. All of my recommendations are suitable for any job around the home, including cleaning vehicles, siding, driveways, sidewalks, and much more.

What Can’t I Do With an Electric Pressure Washer?

You may struggle to deep clean stubborn stains and sticky dirt if the PSI is on the lower end. So remember that not every electric pressure washer has the strongest power.

I also wouldn’t recommend doing commercial work with an electric pressure washer. It will take longer. It would be a better financial choice to use gas, which is quicker and will save you time and money.

What’s More Important: PSI or GPM?

They’re equally important, and the combination is crucial. The PSI is what will provide the stripping action to lift and move dirt away. The GPM is more about the rinsing power that carries away the dirt you’ve lifted.

If you multiply the PSI by the GPM, you will get the cleaning unit (CU) which is an easier way to look at it for some customers.

For Example

A pressure washer with a 3600 PSI and a 2.4 GPM has a CU of 8640. The higher this number, the more powerful the pressure washer.

What PSI Do Professional Power Washers Use?

Professional power washers will usually opt for a gas pressure washer. These machines usually have a PSI of between 3000 and 4000.

How Long Do Electric Pressure Washers Last?

Electric pressure washers typically last for 500 hours. Given that most pressure washers get 50 hours of usage every year, that equates to 10 years of trouble-free use, provided you maintain it following the manufacturer’s guidelines.
