The Best Bissell Vacuums of 2024

Check out these top five different types of highly rated Bissell vacuums.

Bissell CleanView Swivel Pet Upright Bagless Vacuum

Best Bissell Vacuum for Multiple Surfaces

Families with pets know the struggle of keeping hair out of, well, everywhere. To successfully tackle those stubborn furballs, you’ll need the right tools. This bagless vacuum from Bissell is a pet-hair linebacker, ready to take down pet hair and messes.

It features a unique Triple Action brush roll that scoops up even fine hair without scattering it everywhere. The vac is easy to maneuver around the house. And you get some extra attachments for different areas.

What We Like

Powerful Brush Roll

The brush roll features small, flagged bristles that pick up pet hair and fine dust. It loosens and lifts embedded dirt that otherwise would be difficult to remove.

Because the bristles are flagged, they’re soft and won’t damage hard surfaces. Still, although the bristles are gentle, we don’t recommend using them on hardwood floors.

Cleans Close to Edges

Big vacuums are often a challenge to get close to edges. However, the powerful suction and broad brush enable you to get up close to walls and corners.

Scatter-free technology prevents dust, cat litter, and food debris from spreading everywhere.

Washable Filter Saves Money

The bin is easy to empty, and the filter is washable, so it can keep performing at an optimal level.

Multi-cyclonic suction keeps dust and debris in the container instead of settling around the motor and causing damage.

Extendable Hose for Cleaning Corners

The extendable hose lets you do any above-floor cleaning, such as ceiling and corners. You can attach the crevice tool to give you extra reach or the small pet tool for stairs and upholstery.

What We Don't Like

Dust Bin Is Difficult to Clean

Keeping the dust bin clean is vital to avoid any bad smells. However, a few customers noted the container was difficult to wash and dry.

User Experience

My experience with this vacuum has been nothing short of impressive! After switching from my old Bissell Powerforce, I immediately noticed a difference in suction and maneuverability. The adjustable height and swivel features allowed me to easily reach baseboards and navigate around corners. Although a bit heavier than my previous vacuum, the power it provides more than makes up for it. I can confidently say it's the best vacuum I've owned so far, and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of an upgrade!

Bissell Featherweight Stick Vacuum

Best Stick Bissell Vacuum

Towing a heavy canister vacuum around the house can be a dreaded task. However, this lightweight stick vacuum from Bissell is putting a stop to the backache.

It’s versatile and can be used on multiple surfaces. When you need to do smaller areas, you can detach the stick and use it as a handheld. This feature is excellent for when you need to clean sofas, chairs, and stairs.

What We Like

Three-in-One Useful Design

The possible uses with this vacuum are unlimited. You can use it as a stick to effectively clean your floors. But, when you need to beat dust in smaller areas, you can remove the stick and use it as a handheld.

The floor nozzle attaches to the handheld, which makes it very efficient for when you need to clean the stairs.

Lightweight at Three Pounds

Because it only weighs five pounds, this vacuum is light and easy to clean with. Once you’re done, you can store the vac in any small space, thanks to the slim design.

Easy to Empty the Dust Tank

All you have to do is detach the bin from the vacuum and open the lid into the garbage.

You can rinse it with water when needed, but allow it to thoroughly dry before reattaching. It can hold a little under three cups of dust and dirt (0.67 liters).

What We Don't Like

Short Cord of 15 Feet

The power cord is relatively short, reaching only 15 feet. This doesn’t allow you to move around as much, so you’ll need to change power outlets.

Personal Perspective

I'm thrilled with the power and versatility of this compact stick vacuum. As a dog owner, I constantly battle fur balls and this little vac exceeded my expectations in tackling them on my laminate and tiled floors. It's lightweight, making it easy for me, a small older woman, to use with one hand. The only downside is the short cord, but that doesn't take away from its remarkable performance on various surfaces.

Bissell AeroSlim Cordless Handheld

Best Handheld Bissell Vacuum

If you’re looking for a smart, handheld vacuum that you can take with you wherever you need, this is it. It’s lightweight and cordless, powered by a 7.2V lithium-ion battery.

With your purchase, you get a range of handy tools to suit your cleaning task, including a strong dusting brush. The lightweight design combined with an ergonomic handle makes operating a breeze.

You can use it on multiple surfaces such as upholstery, laptop, and in the car. The dirt bin can hold an impressive amount of dust bunnies and dirt despite the small size.

What We Like

Handy Tools for Easier Cleaning

You get several attachments to use when needed. These include a crevice and dusting brush roll that’s excellent for tackling stubborn hair.

It also provides you with a USB charger making charging a breeze.

Powerful 12-Minute Suction

You shouldn’t judge the small design; this vacuum is mighty. Powered by a lithium-ion battery, it’s ready for battle. The vac gives you 12 minutes of fade-free suction. This might not sound like a lot, but it’s enough for small areas.

Easy Charging With Compact Station

Cordless vacuums usually come with a colossal charging station that takes up too much space. However, this vac has a compact station that won’t be in the way. The attachments can be stored on the machine when not in use. Plus, the machine in itself is extremely compact.

What We Don't Like

Cannot Clean Large Spills

It might not be able to clean extensive spills, which is understandable since the vacuum is so small. However, a few customers wished it would be able to combat even a cup of cereals.

Community Feedback

This compact vacuum is perfect for small jobs like cleaning car interiors and reaching tight spaces. Although the suction is good for finer particles, it struggles with larger debris and fabric dust balls on carpets. The battery life is decent, but the dirt capacity is small, so be prepared to empty it frequently.

Bissell EV675 Robot Vacuum

Best Robot Bissell Vacuum

Having a robot vacuum means you can simply sit back, relax and let your vac do all the work. A huge plus is that you can control it using the remote control. It can, therefore, go where your regular vacuum can’t.

The little robot is equipped with a triple-action cleaning system that effectively cleans multiple surfaces. Additionally, the two side brushes are excellent for getting into the corners of your house.

What We Like

Self-Docking When Battery Runs Out

You won’t have to worry about putting the robot back in the charging — it will do so itself. When the battery is running low, or the cleaning session is over, the tiny machine will return to the docking station.

Smart Features Protect the Unit

Stairs can be a robot’s worst enemy. However, this one is equipped with cliff detection. It’ll turn around whenever it gets too close to stairs or any other drop-off point.

One thing many customers liked was the quiet operation. Many said it was much quieter than more expensive models from other brands.

It Cleans Multiple Surfaces

This robot vac can handle it no matter what kind of flooring you have. It will quickly adapt to the various surfaces as it moves around a room. The robot can clean tiles, laminate, hard floors, and low-pile carpets.

What We Don't Like

Doesn’t Have Built-In Memory

Unfortunately, every time you need to use it, you’ll have to program it again. Some customers found this a bit inconvenient.

First-Hand Impression

As a long-time robot vacuum user, I recently tried the Bissell robot vacuum and have been using it for over a year now. It does a great job picking up dust and pet hair on my hardwood and tile floors, and the battery life is quite impressive. The vacuum is quiet enough that I can still watch TV or listen to the radio while it's running, but I tend to turn it off during work calls or meetings. One downside is that it can get tangled in cords and towels, so it's important to keep the cleaning area clear.

Bissell Hard Floor Expert Corded Bagless Canister Vacuum

Best Bissell Vacuum for Hard Floors

Hard floors require a different approach compared to lush carpets. First off, you won’t need specialized beater rolls.

Although Bissell is the master of carpets, the brand also knows a thing or two about hard floors. This canister vacuum features a wide floorhead that covers an ample area in one go. It uses multi-cyclonic technology to provide powerful suction that won’t fade over time.

The lightweight design keeps the vac easy to move around, and you can empty the dust bin quickly without making a mess.

What We Like

Gentle on Hard Floors

Hard floors require a more delicate clean. The turbine hard floor brush glides over the floors while picking up fine dust and debris. It can also easily transit to rugs and carpets to suit your whole house.

Powerful Multi-Cyclonic Suction

Multi-cyclonic technology will give you a powerful suction that won’t fade over time. It can effectively pick up pet hair, kitty litter, and scattered pet food.

Telescopic Wand Suits Various Heights

The telescopic wand allows you to adjust the handle to suit your height. It’s also handy when you need to reach difficult places or do some above-floor cleaning.

What We Don't Like

Not Good on Stairs

Some customers found it difficult to maneuver on stairs. They felt it was bulky, and the wide floorhead was challenging to fit on the steps.

User Experience

I recently got this vacuum and have been using it daily for two weeks now, and I must say, I'm quite impressed. It's lightweight, easy to assemble, and does a fantastic job picking up pet hair and debris on my hardwood and tile floors. However, the canister sometimes tips over and the crevice tools tend to fall off easily, but overall, it's a convenient and efficient vacuum that gets the job done without breaking the bank.

History of Bissell

Founded by Melville R. Bissell and his wife Anna in 1876, this brand began as a small crockery shop in Michigan. Tired of removing sawdust from the carpet, Melville created a unique sweeper.

The sweeper soon became the talk of the town, and many started making requests to buy it. Soon after, their business took flight.

Sadly, in 1889, Melville passed away. However, it wasn’t long until his wife, Anna, stepped in and became the first female CEO in America.

Anna wasted no time in marketing Bissell sweepers across Europe and North America. She made a distinct impression in England, where Queen Victoria specifically asked palace staff to clean using Bissell equipment each week (1).

Bissell quickly grew and came out with new sweepers and cleaners:

  • In 1956: Bissell introduced the first manual carpet shampooer. This would eliminate the need to get on your hands and knees to scrub. In 1957, the Shampoo Master was awarded the Bachner Award for Achievement.
  • In 1979: The carpet deep cleaning machine was introduced. It featured new designs to dig deeper into carpets to eliminate stains and dirt.
  • In the late 1980s: An independent carpet cleaner was revealed. It was the first machine to clean carpets without being attached to a water source. This made deep cleaning much more efficient for homeowners and businesses.

In the coming years, Bissell introduced the Big Green Clean Machine and the company’s first upright model, the PowerGroom.

During the early 2000s, though, Bissell became more focused on a particular group: pet owners. The company released its first specialized pet-mess cleaner in 2005, the SpotBot.

A Charitable Agreement

After partnering up with Petfinder.com in 2001, Bissell vowed to help out with pet adoption.

In 2011, Cathy Bissell launched the BISSELL Pet Foundation. It’s a non-profit charity for abandoned, lost, neglected, and abused dogs. The foundation raises money to support spaying and neutering, adoption, microchipping, and foster care. Every time a customer makes a purchase, Bissell makes a donation.

Sustainability

Saving the environment is also a big priority for Bissell, and they have a team to prove it. In 2006, the brand developed a ForEverGreen team of experts who work to make sustainability a part of the company.

Bissell focuses on finding new ways to transport its products and reduce its carbon footprint. Bissell has already started using different packaging with the help of YFY Jupiter Packaging.

YFY Jupiter Packaging introduced a new renewable packaging material called Npulp. The Asian company uses leftover straw from wheat and rice to create eco-friendly packaging (2).

About Bissell

Bissell is a much-loved brand by many homeowners and, most importantly, pet owners. They’re perfect for animal lovers and anyone who cares for the environment.

Where to Buy Bissell

Naturally, Bissell.com hosts its entire range of vacuums. Additionally, Amazon has a wide selection, with some of the manufacturer’s older models still available.

Customer Service and Reviews

If something goes wrong with your purchased product, you can quickly find several sources of help. Bissell has a dedicated Contact Us site with email addresses and phone numbers for immediate assistance. There are also live chats and a contact number — 1-833-470-1876 — to message for assistance (3).

Consumers are very pleased with Bissell products. The brand has an average score of 4.2 stars on Amazon alone. Many of the products also have several hundred, if not thousands of customer reviews. This makes it simple to find reliable information about the vacuum you’re considering.

What customers like about Bissell is the efficiency of the products. They provide a deep clean whether your troubled area is the carpet, tiles, or hardwood. Bissell also has a wide selection of innovative pet-hair-eraser attachments. These vacuums are effective at tackling stubborn hair.

Why Choose Bissell?

Specialized pet-hair attachments and carpet tools are found elsewhere, so what makes Bissell popular? Bissell is a family-owned business and has been for more than 140 years.

Instead of venturing into other appliances such as washing machines, the brand kept focusing on what it knows best. As a result, Bissell has created outstanding floor care products. They make everything from carpet cleaners and sweepers to vacuums and cleaner solutions.
